About Me

Hello, my name is Helbert. I am a Salesforce Certified Administrator with aspirations of becoming a Salesforce Developer. Welcome to my site!

My passion for Salesforce began as an end user more than ten years ago. Over time, I became increasingly fascinated with how powerful and flexible the platform could be. Today, I proudly hold both the Salesforce Certified Administrator and Platform App Builder certifications.

I first discovered my love for building solutions while completing my Associate of Applied Science in Web Development (2023). During that program, I gained a foundation in JavaScript, Java, Python, PHP, and C#. While I wasn’t sure which path to pursue at first, I soon realized that Salesforce combined my interests in technology, problem-solving, and efficiency in one place.

Professionally, I have spent the last 11 years as a Senior Tier 2 Technical Support Representative, specializing in lead generation and lead routing tools. In this role, I’ve worked closely with engineers to resolve complex customer issues, improve processes, and drive efficiency. These experiences taught me how to be resourceful, collaborative, and always eager to learn new skills.

I have also volunteered as a Salesforce Administrator for a nonprofit organization, supporting the intake of donor contributions and program applications through Salesforce. My work has focused on streamlining data collection, automating business processes, integrating external forms into Salesforce, and improving the organization’s ability to manage donor and applicant information efficiently.

Now, I’m excited to bring my refined problem-solving abilities, technical knowledge, and passion for Salesforce to a growing team and thriving Salesforce org.

Core Values

Team Work

We each bring unique experiences that, when shared, help us create stronger solutions and achieve our goals together.

Ownership

Following a task through to completion not only delivers results but also reinforces a deep sense of purpose and pride.

Efficiency

Strategic planning combined with swift execution ensures results that are both timely and well thought out.

Resourcefulness

I’m driven to find creative solutions independently and exhaust all options before seeking assistance.

Innovation

Creativity inspires fresh perspectives that lead to innovative solutions and continuous improvement.

Growth

Ongoing learning and constructive feedback—whether from peers or the classroom—are essential to becoming a stronger contributor and teammate.

Skills & Experience

Over the past decade in customer support, I’ve continuously expanded my technical skill set to better serve clients and improve product functionality. When faced with limitations in the products I supported, I sought creative, temporary solutions while collaborating with engineering on long-term fixes.

For example, I implemented Zapier automations to parse and route lead data when native parsers failed, ensuring minimal disruption to clients. I leveraged HTML and CSS to help customers design customized autoresponses for their lead systems. When my time with the lead routing product came to an end I learned SQL to query databases for lead validation—identifying spam and invalid records to maintain data quality.

Renewal Opportunity Lifecycle Automation

Description

A robust Salesforce automation solution designed to improve visibility, accountability, and lifecycle management for renewal opportunities by keeping Account and Opportunity Owners aligned through timely notifications, enforcing business requirements for Closed Won and Closed Lost processes, and automating renewal and asset management.

Challenge

Renewal opportunities are critical to sustaining recurring revenue and maintaining long-term customer relationships. Without timely communication, visibility into key renewal milestones, and accountability between the Account Owner and Opportunity Owner, renewals can be delayed, resulting in customer churn, service interruptions, inaccurate sales forecasting, and a poor customer experience.

Solution

Automation Entry Point

The automation is initiated whenever a Renewal Opportunity is updated, allowing the solution to continuously monitor changes to critical milestones throughout the renewal lifecycle. Updates to the Close Date and Opportunity closure status serve as the primary entry points, enabling the automation to respond immediately to timeline changes, Closed Won validation, and Closed Lost processing.

Close Date Management

When the Close Date of a Renewal Opportunity is moved beyond the Asset Expiration Date, both the Opportunity Owner and Account Owner receive email notifications alerting them to the timeline discrepancy. This provides immediate visibility into potential renewal delays and allows both parties to take corrective action before the customer’s service is impacted.

Closed Lost Processing

When a Renewal Opportunity is marked Closed Lost, the Account Owner is notified by email. If the related Account has no other active Assets, the Account is automatically deactivated. If the Asset has already reached its Expiration Date, the Asset is immediately marked inactive.

In the scenario that the Renewal Opportunity closes lost prior to the Asset Expiration Date, a secondary automation schedules the Asset and Account deactivation to occur automatically on the Asset Expiration Date, ensuring customers retain service through the end of their subscription term.

Closed Won Verification and Renewal Generation

Before a Renewal Opportunity can successfully complete the Closed Won process, the automation verifies that the required Purchase Order documentation has been uploaded and that the Invoice notification has been generated. If either requirement is missing, the Opportunity Owner receives a Salesforce custom notification identifying the missing documentation, and the Opportunity Stage is automatically reverted to the appropriate stage until the requirements are met.

Once all requirements have been satisfied, the automation generates the next Renewal Opportunity, carries forward the associated Asset, dynamically calculates the next Close Date and Asset Expiration Date based on the current Asset’s Expiration Date, and notifies the Account Owner that the renewal has been successfully completed.

Result

This solution improves communication and accountability throughout the renewal lifecycle by ensuring Account Owners and Opportunity Owners remain informed of critical timeline changes and renewal outcomes. The automation reduces manual follow-up, enforces documentation requirements before revenue is recognized, prevents duplicate renewal creation, preserves customer service through scheduled asset deactivation, and improves the accuracy of sales reporting. The design also scales to accounts with multiple assets by ensuring automation acts only on the asset associated with the renewal opportunity.

Opportunity Health Management System

Description

A two-part Salesforce Opportunity Health Management solution designed to identify opportunities at risk of becoming stagnant. Rather than relying solely on Opportunity Stage, the solution evaluates each opportunity using a custom Health Score based on recent activity and engagement. Opportunities with declining scores are automatically surfaced weekly. Once a determined threshold is reached a guided forensic review becomes available, allowing Opportunity Owners to document completed activities, update critical information, and restore the opportunity to an active, healthy state. This approach encourages continuous pipeline maintenance, improves forecasting accuracy, and reduces the likelihood of overlooked sales opportunities.

Challenge

As sales pipelines grow, it becomes increasingly difficult to ensure every opportunity continues to receive the attention needed to progress toward a successful close. Opportunities that become stagnant can reduce forecasting accuracy, weaken customer relationships, and ultimately result in lost revenue. Sales teams need greater visibility into at-risk opportunities before they are forgotten or abandoned.

Solution

Automation Entry Point

This solution consists of two coordinated Salesforce automations designed to proactively identify stagnant Opportunities and encourage meaningful sales activity before opportunities are lost or forgotten.

Determining The Health Score

The first automation executes on a weekly schedule across all open Opportunities and calculates a custom Opportunity Health Score, beginning at 100%. The score evaluates several indicators of pipeline health, including recent activity, overdue Close Dates, contact engagement, stage progression, Opportunity updates, and sales planning. Points are deducted for inactivity or warning signs that indicate an Opportunity is losing momentum, while positive sales behaviors are rewarded to reflect healthy pipeline management.

The Health Score evaluates factors such as:

  • Recent completed tasks and customer engagement
  • Overdue Close Dates
  • Number of related Contacts
  • Opportunity Stage progression
  • Frequency of Close Date changes
  • Time spent in Negotiation/Review
  • Presence of a documented Next Step

Opportunities that fall below the established Health Score threshold automatically qualify for a guided Forensic Review.

The Forensic Review

The second automation presents Opportunity Owners with a structured review process designed to restore Opportunity health by documenting meaningful sales activity and updating critical information.

During the review, users can improve the Opportunity Health Score by:

  • Updating the Close Date
  • Associating additional Contacts
  • Logging completed Tasks
  • Advancing the Opportunity Stage

Upon completion of the Forensic Review, the Opportunity Health Score is recalculated and displayed, providing immediate feedback to the Opportunity Owner while encouraging continuous pipeline maintenance and improved forecasting accuracy.
